Located at 16 Westal Street, The Nhulunbuy Aquatic Centre is a first class facility and is a popular spot for residents, their families and visitors to relax or get active.

The Aquatic Centre has two pools – a 50m Olympic outdoor swimming lap pool and an outdoor toddler pool, as well as a playground, a kiosk, free BBQ facility and expansive grounds for users to enjoy.

Hours of Operation

Lifeguards supervise the facility between 8:30PM and 6:30PM Monday to Friday except for Tuesdays when they are open from 2:30PM-6:30PM as it is closed for maintenance up until this time.

On weekends, our lifeguards supervise the facility between 8:30AM-6:00PM Saturday and 10:00AM-6:00PM Sunday. Please call the Nhulunbuy Corporation on 08 8939 2213 for specific public holiday hours.

Memberships & Facility Hire

Entry is either through membership or on a casual basis obtained from the Aquatic Centre kiosk. Membership and casual fees are listed in the Nhulunbuy Corporation’s Schedule of Fees and Charges. 

When booking the Aquatic Centre for Lane Hire or a Private Function please call the Manager Community Development on 08 8939 2200 or email office@ncl.net.au.

Out of Hours Access

The Aquatic Centre is available for out of hours access by members between 4:00AM - 8:30AM and 6:00PM - 10:00PM each day (except between 8:00PM on Mondays and 2:30PM on Tuesdays). Lifeguards are not present during these times. To obtain out of hours access, members must complete a free induction program conducted by the Nhulunbuy Corporation and sign a waiver acknowledging that they will be using the facility at their own risk. Induction bookings can be made by calling the Nhulunbuy Aquatic Centre on 08 8939 2213.

Out of Hours Access Users are required to familiarise themselves with the Nhulunbuy Aquatic Centre’s Emergency Action Plan.
