Stage 1 of the Airport Maintenance Project has been completed! Stage 1 was focused on upgrading the central portion of the roof structure of the terminal, as well as the two awnings above the entry/exits. The airport terminal was constructed in 2004 and was beginning to show signs of its age, with rust and metal fatigue becoming apparent.
Our contractor, Scope Building, completed this project following commencement late in 2022. Scope Building and the Nhulunbuy Corporation would like to thank the public for their patience throughout the duration of Stage 1.
Stage 2 of the Airport Maintenance Project is set to commence, with expected completion by the end of 2023. Stage 2 will focus on the 'wings' of the terminal. Stage 2 is currently out for tender. For more information on Stage 2, please see our Tenders and Expressions of Interest Page.
