GOVE AIRPORT ANNOUNCEMENT – Lightning Strike
A lightning strike on Sunday evening, 31st January 2021 has impacted all runway lighting at the Gove Airport.
Emergency lighting will enable emergency flights to land and take off however all other night flights will be impacted. Day light flights should not be impacted. The Nhulunbuy Corporation are working to rectify this problem as quickly as possible however due to the extent of the issue it is likely to be a few weeks before new lighting is fully operational.
