Approximately 50 students from the Nhulunbuy High School, Nhulunbuy Christian College and Dhupuma-Barker Middle School were given an opportunity to have a close-up look at a C-130 Hercules cargo plane during a visit from the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF). This visit was a part of the Aviation Motivation Program (AMP) hosted by the Australian Defence Force, which aims to provide insight into career pathways in aviation in all services of the Defence Force.
Students were provided a close-up look and guided tour of the aircraft. Additionally, they were able to experience a Virtual Reality flying simulation in a portable flight simulator.
The Gove Airport is very proud to have facilitated such an event.
