Annually, the Nhulunbuy Corporation provides businesses in the region with up to 2 opportunities to dispose of asbestos and asbestos waste at the Gove Peninsula Waste Management Facility. The first opportunity for 2024 will occur in June, with exact dates to be confirmed upon return of all expressions of interest.

To provide an expression of interest, please contact the Nhulunbuy Corporation by emailing office@ncl.net.au to obtain an Application for Disposal of Asbestos. These forms can also be picked up at the NCL office on Westal Street. The deadline for return of this EOI is COB on Friday the 31st of May.

Once your application has been approved, the Nhulunbuy Corporation will contact you. Payment must be made to the Nhulunbuy Corporation prior to disposal, either over the phone or in person at our office. You will be required to present your payment receipt and approved Application to Gumatj Aboriginal Corporation staff at the Waste Management Facility when you arrive with your asbestos.

As capacity for disposal is limited, if the Nhulunbuy Corporation is unable to accommodate your disposal request at this time, we will be in contact to provide alternative arrangements.
