Whats on: The First evening will be a Poetry Dinner. Bring your best original poetry or prose or that of a family member or friend. Our last poetry Dinner in 2009 was a great success with some awesome original poems being delivered. Even if you don’t want to read the poem yourself, one of our verbose members will be happy to recite it for you !

Tamika has been selected as a 2010 Semi Finalist in the Community Service Award category for the Northern Territory Young Achiever Awards. 

With over 210 nominations received in this years program, Nhulunbuy Corporation Limited’s nomination and the quality of all the nominations received this year has reinforced the extraordinary commitment and dedication our young people show towards making a positive contribution to Communities in the Northern Territory.

The official Judging Day is on Thursday 18th February 2010.  The judging panel on this day will select our 2010 finalists and winner for each category. 

Let’s all wish Tamika the best for nomination day, and give a big pat on the back or handshake for being a Semi Finalist!!!!

The first market morning for the year was a fun filled morning with more than 30 stalls in attendence. 

Gove Netball Association - Team B hosted the morning which allowed them to fundraise by setting up the hall, coordinating the stall holders, selling all of the food including baked goods and a bbq, as wll as tea, coffee and refreshments.  The group did a fantastic job raising more than $2300, which will go towards the junior teams visit to Hawaii in 2nd April.  The trip will give the team an opportunity to compete internationally on a grass court.  There will be a few Netball personalities attending, a former Australian Captain, a current Australian Institute of Sport Coach and Former Australian Player. 

Gove Netball Association- B will also be fundraising through a Ladies Pamper Day at The Arnhem Club on the 14th Feb – Valentines Day! 

The next NCL Art & Craft Markets is on Saturday 27th March and will be hosted by Gove Squash! 

Why not have your childs birthday party at the same time?  No cooking, cleaning, everything is there including ice-cream, face painting, fairy floss, music and coffee etc. for the parents!!!!

There were stalls there from Indigenous Art & Photography to Christmas Craft and home made chocalates!

Nhulunbuy Scouts hosted the event, fundraising through the sale of Bacon & Egg Burgers, Home Baked goodies and refreshments.  The committee deserves a big congratulations for working so well together on a such a busy day…and obviously re-stocking the much loved burgers at least twice!

Although the last market morning for the year, we all look forward to getting back together the first week of February to sell lots of things for our lovely “Valentines”.  Keep an eye out for who will be hosting.
